This report is Confirmed true and is of Medium Priority. Here is why -
A team of 12 Muslim men who were on a tour to Ayeyarwady Region to do prayers has faced harassment by police after news of their visit was posted on the social media. A group called itself Ayeyarwady Nationalist Coalition (Phya Pone) has written on its Facebook page that many strangers have entered into Ayeyarwady Region after the team visited the Mosque in Kamar Bo Village of Phya Pone Township. The nationalist coalition reported to the police to do checking on the Muslim group. The police visited the mosque during the nighttime. Some Muslims were able to produce their citizenship identification cards while some showed recommendation letters from their respective wards authorities. A Facebook page with the name of La Min Naung wrote on its Facebook page that only three Muslims had the citizenship IDs and the rest of the team members had only recommendation letters from the police or their ward authorities. It said the nationalist coalition members involved together with the police in checking on the Muslims pilgrims. However, many Facebook posts on the incident said the recommendation letters were not issued by the police or ward authorities instead by a mosque. The aim was to create misunderstanding among the people. The nationalist coalition is a Ma Ba Tha and it involve in charitable works. Reference: Source of BHRN and La Min Nation Facebook page.
