Pendant ce temps, des unités loyalistes qui avaient décroché se sont regroupées et sont vite passées à l'offensive à Lulimba où des combats ont duré tout l'après midi. Selon un officier des FARDC sur place, la tactique de contournement de l'ennemi à payé et selon lui la localité de Lulimba est repassée sous le contrôle des Fardc.
