A murder linked to dispute over land donated to a mosque was misreported by a number of leading media in Myanmar as killing over dispute on selection of trustees for a mosque. The incident in which two people dead and eight injured took place at the Yatkantaw ward of Ohbo Village in Amarapura Township in Myanmar’s second capital Mandalay following a dispute among relatives over ownership of the land. The incident was reported by The Voice Weekly as dispute over selection of trustees for a mosque. The Daily Eleven newspaper also misreported on the incident in a news published by the paper by using the title “Two dead in dispute over selection of Maluvis at a Mandalay Mosque” .The news report says the fighting between the new and old trustees had led to the deaths and injuries.
