The monk supervisory body, the State Maha Nayaka Committee has issued an order to U Pammaukkha, a leading monk of Ma Ba Tha not to interfere in the judicial system. The order was issued after the Region Police complained against the monk for interfering in the court cases and police work in Yangon Eastern district. However, U Pamaukkha refused to abide by the order. He said in a media briefing at Yangon City Hotel on 9 March that he did not interfere in the civilian justice matter. U Pamaukkha has involved in the cases involving Buddhists against members of the other race and religion. He was seen giving speech in front of a police station, by using loudhailer, saying police took bribe. The Yangon Region monk supervisory committee has issued an order against him in 2015 not to use the influence of monks in the courts. A police officer from Yangon Region Police office said in April 2015 that everyone has to treat equally irrespective of the race and religion. “In 93rd street murder case he came to the court and said a person of different religion has committed murder and took pictures inside the court”. U Parmauk Kha is a monk from Magwe monastery and he resigned from Ma Ba Tha in June 2016 but he continues to interfere in the courts and police stations.
