Here is why -
An article written by a senior member of the Association of Protection of Race and Religion- Ma Ba Tha Dr Ashin Thawka Pakahar mentioned the Rohnigyas as “vipers” and “cobras”. The article was published in a pro Ma Ba Tha journal Thagi Thway.
The monk wrote in his article based on an interview with a German journalist Mr Hologer Helmut Kurth who work from a Singapore based ARD Radio Channel.
The monk asked the journalist, who asked the question about Rohingya, why he was asking about them. He said Rohingya are disguising themselves as victims. However, there are some people who are actual victims. He told the journalist not to mix the both categories.
The monk also told the journalist that the vipers and cobra are poisonous. If they bite one can die. The people who are telling to avoid the poisonous people are accused of spreading hatreds. He said he do not sympathies with such people.
A secretary of Ma Ba Tha Mya Sete monk also used similar analogy earlier, he said at the third anniversary event of Ma Ba Tha that even though he has love for vipers and cobras but one cannot keep them close to their body.
