Kerugoya town was alive with celebrations following the announcement of presidential results by IEBC Chairperson, Mr Chebukati. Given that Kirinyaga is UDAs stronghold, the residents received the news with jubilation and a lot of excitement. The party went on for about three hours (from 6:30-9:00) to thereabouts. But as with every celebration, there are a few people who took advantage of the situation to steal and loot from shops and businesses that were still open. The affected parties cannot quantify the loss yet but its quite significant given the tough economic crisis of our country.
