Here is why -
A meeting of extreme nationalist groups were held in Yangon on 20 May to discuss on launching of a campaign to “eliminate fake race”. The meeting was held at San Pya Monastery in Mayangone Township. The was attended by the monks from the 969 movement and other nationalist activists.
The meeting has decided that its campaign will advocate for adoption of a law to prevent using the name of a race that is not included in the list of officially reorganized ethnic races in Myanmar.
Also, to put the pressure on the government to prevent the insult by international community by using the name of the ethnic group, which does not, exists in Myanmar.
They also decided to call the United Nations and the European Union to send domestic and international experts to Myanmar to study Myanmar history to prove the fake race does not exist in Myanmar.
The meeting also decided to continue the lobby until they secure official declaration from the Government and the Union Parliament.
