Here is why -
A brawl at a marriage ceremony in Konethar village in Minbu Township was misreported in Facebook as Buddhist-Muslim riot.
The incident took place on 27 March was a brawl between the groom and some of village youth which was erupted after argument over the amount of money to be paid for bachelor night party.
However, the Facebook news on the incident said it was Muslim-Buddhists riot and police was called in and shots were fired.
The disagreement was over the amount of money the groom need to pay for bachelor night party. The youths asked for Kyat 600,000 but the groom only agree to pay Kyat 100 000. An argument over it was followed by violent attack by the youths.
They also attacked two Muslim men who were in Konethar village for cow trade.
A resident from Minbu Township said the village head has tried to protect the two Muslim men.
The Facebook post was aimed at inciting religious riot by misreporting on the incident. The Facebook post said a village youth was attacked by a Muslim youth and tension was and the village youth was planning to burn down the village mosque.
