A committee was formed to deal with the emergency in the country. One of its key task is to prevent religious violence. The committee is chaired by a Vice President Henry Van Thio and its members include the ministers of Home and Border Affairs as well as the Chief Ministers of all regions and states together with the National Police Chief and the Chief of the Military Command. The presidential order on formation of the committee said its tasks includes to uncover the groups, which are acting from behind the scene, to provoke religious violence. Also to prevent the use of media for the purpose of religious incitement. And to tackle politically motivated protest marches through the support of the public. Other tasks of the committee are to conduct simulation exercises on how to tackle the violent incidents, collecting intelligence on plans for violent attacks and to release news on the incident in a timely manner using the true facts in order to dispel rumors.
