This report is Confirmed true and is of Low Priority. Here is why -
A senior official of the Religious Affairs Department said his department would file a lawsuit against the Moe Pya Buddhist sect as it is causing division among the members of the faith. The deputy Permanent Secretary of the Religious Affairs Department said the department is collecting evidence against U Nyan Na the leader of the sect. The Religious Affairs Department said on 10 March that the High Courts in Mandalay and Yangon Regions need to issue warrants against the sect to press charge against it. The President Office has issued an instruction to the Nay Pyi Taw Council, State and Region governments and the Union Supreme Court to coordinate with the Ministry of Religious Affairs, if the ministry ask for help. The leader of the Moe Pya sect U Nyan Na was release in an amnesty announced by the government of president U Thein Sein after serving 20 years imprisonment. U Nyan Na was accused of trying to resurrect a new thinking on Buddhism, which is based on futuristic belief. Reference: 7 Daily, 12 March 2017
