The president of the Law & Order Group said they are applying to the state government to become an official organisation. The Law & Order Group is holding batons to enforce law and order. The president of NLD party in Taunggyi city, U Tin Maung Toe said, “It is important to know who would be responsible for this group, if they are legally registered. They should not conduct security matters under the name of charitable organisation”. The Law & Order Group was formed on 6th July 2014, initiated and introduced by Shan State Ma Ba Tha, and they have been interfering in police matters. There are many organisations, local residents, political parties and monks that have criticised the group for their interference. However, Shan State 11 Police chief said, police usually do their job but sometimes we have to cooperate with others for the sake of local security. Despite the large number of complaints from various people, the organisation is becoming larger and currently it has 1,100 members.
