Military chief warned against political interference using Rohingya crisis

The Commander-in-Chief, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, reiterated that Rohighya people does not exist in Myanmar. He sad political interference using the Rohingya refugees is continuing. The military chief made the comment in an address on 27 March marking Myanmar Military Day. He stressed that Myanmar military would do all it could to protect the country from such interference. He said it was informed to the world that Rohingya does not exists in Myanmar and he said Bengali people living in Myanmar were those who intruded into Myanmar and they are not the citizens. The military Chief said there were interference by foreign countries by using the Rohingya refugees who fled the country following October 2016 violent attacks in Rakhine State. He said the military has natural duty to protect the country as they are affecting the sovereignty of the country. He said military has responsibility for defending against all insurgencies based on race and religion. He said the terror attacks in northern Rakhine State, in Kachin, Mone Koe in Eastern Shan State and Laukkai during 2016 were against the national sovereignty and the military had to launch counter offensives. The comment by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was welcomed by MPs from ethnic parties. They said what military chief said was in the interest of the country and they should be practically implemented. Daw Nan Wah Nu, a MP from Kun Hein Township in Shan State said she agree with what the military chief said about the Rakhine issue is concerned with the whole country. And she supported the military’s stance on Rohingya, as it was already declared by former president U Thein Sein that Rohingya are non-existence in Myanmar.
