Here is why -
The conversion law, one of the four Race and Religion Protection laws, has been
approved by the lower house of parliament on 14th May. The approval neglected the
criticism of international community and ethnic minorities. The law has been
approved after amending it, which expanded the scrutinizing committee that allow
joining the representative from multi-faith and local authorities.
The bill, initiated and supported by religious based ultra nationalist groups, submitted
on 19th January 2015. The Members of Parliament debated on the bill on 3rd
February 2015. Ultra nationalist activist, human rights activists and multi faith
representatives were witnessed at the Parliament on 3rd April 2015.
