Here is why -
A senior monk from the Association on the Protection Race and Religion - more widely known with its Myanmar acronym Ma Ba Tha- has posted pictures of a group of dead people on social media 24 July.
U Wirathu posted the pictures on his Facebook page and claimed that genocide is being committed against Buddhists in Rakhine State.
However, according to the experts the pictures were most likely to be the ones, which were taken during the war between India and Pakistan in 1971 over the independence of Bangladesh (then known as East Pakistan).
The posts by U Wiratu was shared among more than 1200 Facebook users. And additional 5700 people have shared the post through a Facebook page named “The Voice of Thadaveda Buddhist Monks”.
The new government is still failing to take action against religious incitements, which were widely condoned under the previous government led by U Thein Sein.
