This report is Confirmed true and is of High Priority. Here is why -
Three Muslims were arrested for entering into a village designated as “Islam-free” in Minbu Township. The two men and a woman, U Soe Lwin, Ko Oo Lwin and Ma Mi Mi Naing, were arrested by the police after they entered in to Kone Thar village, which was designated as “Islam free” in March. They went to the village to sell residual oil. They were charged by the police under the section 9 of the State Economic Enterprise Act for carrying 10 gallon of crude oil. Their case was registered at the Saku police station with the number (Pa) 417/2016. The news on their arrest was posted on the social media on 9 November saying that “the head of village administration and villagers are assessing the case of three Kular (a derogatory term used in Myanmar to refer Muslims and people of south Asian origin) animals from Moneya. They entered into the Kone Thar village, which is designated as an Islam free village”. On 29 March this year, six signboards saying “Islam free village” were put up in some parts of the Kone Thar village. Source of BHRN
