Chief Editor of a local journal spread hate message on social media

The chief editor of a local publication, Democracy News Journal, has shared a video containing message to incite religious violence. U Zay Yaw Myat Khaine, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the publication, has shared the video on 13 October. The video was originally posted on social media Facebook on a page named Theik Phwa. A post with introductory words on the video written by Theik Phwa, which include inappropriate language against Muslims, is also posted together with the video. The post was shared among 80 000 Facebook users. A statement issued by the President Office said severe legal actions would be taken against those who attempt to create racial and religious tensions and conflict by using the ongoing incidents in Maungtaw and other parts of Northern Rakhine State for their advantage.
