Here is why -
The State Ministry of Co-operative Services, Marketing Development and Consumer Protection informed on the 3rd December 2021 that the distribution of gas to the local market is suspended until further notice. Earlier, the President appointed an eight-member Committee to investigate recent reports of liquid petroleum (LP) gas cylinder fires and make recommendations. Issuing a statement on 2nd December, the said Committee mentioned that 131 such incidents were reported from the 1st of January 2021 to the 1st of December 2021. The Committee had decided to issue a series of guidelines for the general public to follow to minimize and prevent such incidents from taking place.
