Driver of car that smuggled Bangalis to Yangon charged

The police in Hmawbi has arrested on 27 February a driver of the car, which was used last year to smuggle Bangalis from relief camps in Sittwe to Yangon. U Htay Aung was charged under forgery, export and import act section 8/10. The police tried to stop three cars with 10 Bangali people but only one car was able to be stop at the Hmawbi police checkpoint last year. The Banglai had to pay Kyat 1 million each for to be smuggled to Yangon. The car drove by U Htay Aung was found in Tyeikkyi Township only last year October and he was arrested during this month. The cars were not registered with the road transportation department and the police charged U Htay Aung under a motor vehicle reglstration rule. Reference The Voice Daily, Monday 29 February 2016
