This report is Confirmed true and is of Low Priority. Here is why -
A group of people including the owner of the house to which a young monk has intruded are facing charges for causing defame to Buddhism. The Rakhine Youth Force, Patriotic Union and Buddhist vigilante group has pressed six charges against the house owner Daw Mya Mya Aye and her neighbors after a young monk who intruded into the bedrooms of her daughters was nabbed. The incident took place on 14 February at Daw Mya Mya Aye’s home at Shwe Pyi Thar Township. A baldhead naked man was found inside the bedroom of two daughters of Daw Mya Mya Aye around 2 p.m. at night and he was arrested by the house owner and her neighbors. They were not aware he was a monk, found out only after his robe was found near the toilet. The arrested man whose name is Maung Maung Aye was sent to police station and put on trial. He was sentenced to two years imprisonment by a judge Daw Mo Mo Aye, after he confessed the crime. However, the nationalists group have filed lawsuit against those who involved in arrest of Maung Maung Aye under charges of defaming Buddhist religion, said a resident of ward Daw Moe Moe Aung on 5 March. Ma Tin Moe Khaing who live in the same ward said similar incident happened at her home 10 days before the incident at Daw Mya Mya Aye home, where she saw a necked bald headed man tried to embrace her daughter, but at that time, the attacker has escaped. Ma Tin Moe Khaing said after people were charged for arresting a monk, they will not be dare to do again and she felt threatened as law and order situation is weak. U Tay Zaw Pathaka, a monk from San Lin Monastery in Shwe Pyi Thar said pressing charges against those who arrested intruder monk could cause more defame the Buddhist religion “that monk did not go to the home to deliver the teaching of Lord Buddha, if I may say bluntly, he went there to rape a woman, so he should not be spared”.
