This report is Probably true and is of Medium Priority. Here is why -
One Village head was dismissed as village head at Rakhine State because he repaired one mosque that was destroyed by the storms and also dismantled that mosque. That mosque at the west of Pa Nyaung Pin Gyi village, northern Maung Taw township was destroyed by storm at July 2015 and the head of village repaired that mosque at November 2015. Villagers informed for that news of ‘the township’s mosque was repaired by village head’ to township administrators, distinct administrators, battalion commander of Alae Than Kyaw, No.7 border area police station, chief soldier of border area at Tadar township’s station, departments of military security organization. Village head and responsible people of the mosque were extorted by those above officials at December and those officials also forced to destroy the mosque, so destroyed some parts of mosque. And head of village, U Maung Thars Aular, was dismissed as village’s head by township administrator, U Hla Myint at January 5 because of some wrong news about “village head did not destroy the mosque till now”. Islamic Mosques and religious buildings cannot be constructed throughout Myanmar and also difficult to repair and enlarge for those religious buildings.
