DVB and Mizzima journalists face harassment by soldiers

A GROUP of journalists attended a media conference held by the victims of land confiscation have faced their phones and cameras confiscated by a group of soldiers. The incident took place on 15 Mach at a media briefing by 32 victims at Min Kin Kone village in Patheingyi Township in Mandalay Region. The land were allegedly confiscated by the local Engineer Regiment no 901. The journalists from Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB) and Mizzima said their cameras were confiscated by a military security personnel after they took picture of the signboard of the regiment situated near the Min Kin Kone Village. They were also denied permission to interview the regiment officials on the land confiscation matter. Reference: The Voice 16 March 2016
