AUGUST 9 The local media stated: according to the Myanmar police force, a group of 50 people were suspected of working with so called Islamic State IS by communicating through online network. “These 50 people communicated with IS through online network expressing their willingness to work with the terror group if granted approval. This has been investigated and founded out by police force.” said the Chief of Police, U Kyaw Win, from Myanmar Police department. The police force also stated that the recruitment process of Jihadists has been taking place in Australia and Indonesia. Myanmar has also been approached by IS to form new members. “In Myanmar, anti-terrorism law has been issued since 2014. And law against terrorist financing will also be issued in the future “said chief of police officer U Soe Myaing from International criminals trespassing department.
