Several social media posts and videos had claimed that JVP/NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayaka's son was present at an elite night club on 5th November 2021. The main idea put forward in those posts was that it shows the hypocrisy of leaders who swear by socialism. The official Facebook page of JVP has not published anything denying this claim, even though they sometimes do publish posts denying false allegations. There were some posts presumably published by JVP sympathizers which had admitted that it is indeed Anura Kumara Dissanayaka's son who is in the video, even though it had been taken at a private function some time ago, and not at a night club.
