A rumor circulated in Pyay in central Myanmar on 5 November said about 40 Bengali terrorists were coming to the town from nearby Pangtaung Township. Later it was found out that the rumor was first reported on the social media. The deputy head of Bago Region Police said the people do not need to worry and the police will not arrest the people responsible for spreading the rumor. After the rumor was spread, the security was stepped up in Pyay and the police are conducting search in some wards in the town. Other rumor said Bengali came into Ywabe ward, which was later refuted by a regional authority, who visited the place and found out the people living in the ward are people of Indian origins.
