A traditional martial arts course was conducted in Thapeik Kyin Township in Mandalay Region under the sponsorship of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), said a party official. U Aye Min Than, instructor for the training said the objective of the training was to introduce Myanmar traditional arts, which is close extension, to the youths. Also for them to be able to protect their race and religions though the martial arts. The training, which is open for all interested students from basic education schools, will begin on 26 March. The training will be for two weeks, which will include martial arts on using sticks, swards and physical attacks. The USDP conducted a similar training in Shwe Pyi Thar Township in Yangon on 24 December. During that training lectures on practical use of law was also presented in addition to the martial arts classes. There have also been similar trainings conducted by the ultra-nationalists elements across Myanmar since 2015. Even though it is important to conduct martial arts trainings. However, some of the mottos for those trainings were seen as racist. Reference: The Voice Daily 28 March Volume 4 Number 301
