Here is why -
A monk was killed in Singu Township in Mandalay Region earlier this month; the extremist elements used the killing of the monk to incite religious violence. They posted provocative messages on the social media Facebook.
The monk was from Asoka Monastery in Lat Pan Hla village and two youth who killed the 60-year-old monk Bandanta Nyana Wuntha have been arrested. They are Kyaw Swa Linn, 24 and Aung Naing Win (a.k.a) U Ti Pwa, 22 both are laborers.
The monk was planning to build a charitable clinic for monks inside his the monastery. According to police, Kyat 40 million he raised for the clinic is missing after his killing.
Without knowing the motives extremist elements are posting provocative messages on the social media on motive behind the monk’s killing and the authorities condoned their actions.
The Lat Pan Hla police station is doing inquiry under section 302/382 of Penal Code and the case number is (P) 94/2006. The body of the monk was sent to Mandalay hospital for autopsy.
