This report is Confirmed true and is of Medium Priority. Here is why -
The houses belong to Muslims in Kyaukphyu who fled to internally displaced camps due to sectarian violence in 2012 are intruded. The local authorities have issued order to prevent the intrusion. Due to the violence incidents Muslims from Kyaukphyu town and nearby villages of Taungyin, Pyinphyu Maw were moved to Kyuktalone IDP, camp which is situated about two miles from Kyaukphyu town. Currently there are 1000 IDP living in the camp. At the time of the move, they were allowed to carry only personal items. The houses and household items were left behind. There were incidents of looting and intrusion by Rakhine people. To stop intrusion the Township Administrator has issued prohibition order under penal code 188. A similar order was issued in 2016 when people intruded into the ground of Muslim homes ravaged by fire.
