Here is why -
The Lisu National Development Party (Du Lay Party) has called for investigation on killing of four members of the Lisu Ethnic group during January and early March.
The party has sent a letter to the President, the Chief Minister of Kachin State, Commander of the Northern Command as well as to the Chair of the Regional Parliament and to the Commander in Chief of Kachin Independence Army (KIA).
The letter called for investigation into unlawful killing of the four people. The killing reportedly took place at Sadon Region of Wai Maw Township in Kachin State.
In a media release issued on 24 March, the Lisu party accused KIA and its political wing Kachin Independence Organization of ordering for the killing and called for investigation and prosecution of the culprits. The party also said it condemn such unlawful killing of Lisu people.
The four people killed were from Ma Sa, Bon Sin, Ngwa Lay villages in Kan Peik Tee region. One was killed on 14 January and the other three were killed in the aftermath of the violent conflict between the local opium poppy growers and Pak Jar San militia group.
