Here is why -
Golden Gate Kalyani bridge was opened on the 24th November with much fanfare. However, the bridge had been closed the following morning, giving rise to social media ridicule. It had been opened by that evening (25th evening). The Project Director had indeed mentioned on the 23rd November that the bridge will be closed for a day or so after the opening ceremony for cleaning purposes (Sinhala video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZZmh4Zx8z8.
