Here is why -
The Rakhine State immigration Chief Department said among the applicants of national identification card, from 2015 January to September, 528 Rohingya have been already reported to the Center.
.Applicants were Bengalis from Kyaukphyu, Ramree, Maungdaw, Butitaung and Thandwe said State Immigration Officer, U Khin Soe.
There are total 902cases of applicants for national identification cards in Rakhine and so far 528 cases have been processed and reported to the Centre which include 407 cases from Maungdaw and 30 cases from Butitaung.
State Immigration office stated that the applicants for national identification cards has been increased since the withdrawal of the so called white cards and there are over 200 stations have been opened across the Rakhine State to process the applications for national identification card.
