The rival candidates contested for parliamentary seat in Yemathin in Mandalay Region involved in argument over the use of race and religion to woo voters during the election campaign. U Aung Myo Oo from the National League for Democracy (NLD) who lost the election to U Kyaw Myint, a member of Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) has submitted a complaint to the Union Election Commission (UEC) against his rival. U Aung Myo Oo said he has submitted a video of a campaign rally organized by U Kyaw Myint, in which the USDP candidate was seen threatening voters to vote for him or face domination by members of other religions.
