Here is why -
A court in Mon State has sentenced a Muslim woman to 18 months in prison for selling pants printed with the image of stupa.
Ma Aye Aye Win (a.k.a) Juma Bi was sentenced on 8 September by a judge U Soe Min of the Mawlamyine Township court under the charges related to insult of religion.
A man named U Thura Lwin has made the complaint in the court against Ma Aye Win in May. She was arrested while selling the pants in her shop at the Myaine Thayar market.
The news was posted on the social media Facebook by a monk Ashin Pannita.
According to a Facebook page of Ah Mar Ni, a social activist in Mandalay the pants Ma Aye Aye Win selling were imported from China.
