This report is Probably false and is of Medium Priority. Here is why -
A post circulated on the social media on 30 October shows the picture of the dead body of Kabir Ahamed, a village administrator who was killed earlier this year. Ahamed was the village administrator of Pha Wut village in Maungtaw Township before he was killed on 24 May by unknown assailants. The aim of reissuing the post with the latest date could be to create heightened tension and to increase hatred against Bengali in the aftermath of the 9 October attacks on the three border security outposts of the Myanmar security forces. A Facebook post of April Maung Maung featured the post, which was shared among so-called “patriot” social media users. The post said Ahmed was killed by two assailants after he helped the security forces in search for terrorists involved in the 9 October attacks. The news on Ahamed’s assassination was first published by a Bangladesh based online media Naringara on 25 May. It said the village administrator was killed by unknown assailants while he was in a meeting. Reference: Naringara, Facebook page of April Maung Maung
