A numbers of local media reported that the numbers of Muslims and Christians in Myanmar have increased while the number of Buddhists is in decline.

The 7 Day Newspaper headline says “The numbers of Buddhists slightly declined and Christian and Muslims number on the rise”
The newspaper has calculated the numbers of Muslims and Christians in term of percentage of the total population. However, there is no significant change in the numbers of people belong to the two religions, in compared to the result of the previous census, which was conducted in 1983.
