A group of 28 Rohingya returnees from Bangladesh were arrested on 5 March in Maungtaw. The arrest was made at the western part of Tone Chaung village around 9:30 p.m. According the head of Maungtaw District Administration, they were from Sittwe, Mrauk U and Kyauktaw and went to Bangladesh about three months ago as migrant workers. A Rakhine news agency Rakhine Gazette reported that among the 28 arrested people, two are women and five teenagers and they were arrested by no four Police outpost and will be charged under the existing law. A Bangladesh-based news agency Narinjara quoting AFP news agency reported that about 70 000 Rohingyas have fled to Bangladesh in the after math of attack on the Border Guard Force in Maungtaw last October. It said thousands of people are returning to Myanmar. Even though Rohingya returnees are arrested, however, the authorities help Rakhine people return to Myanmar from Bangladesh.
