This report is Confirmed true and is of Medium Priority. Here is why -
The wife of a freelance journalist Ko Aung Kyaw Naing (a.k.a) Ko Par Gyi who was killed in 2014 says she will appeal against the ruling to close his murder case. Daw Thandar says the court inform her that its initial decision to press murder charge was dropped as it found mistakes done by the officials during the investigation. Daw Thandar says the court’s initial ruling says her husband death was unnatural and he was killed due to gunshot wound. She said the final ruling by the court to close the case was not consistent with its initial ruling and she will continue legal path for the truth to emerge. In a similar case the culprit for the killing of two Christian volunteer teachers in January 2015 is still not being arrested. The two teachers of ethnic Kachin origin were killed Nantaung village in Muse Township. The General Secretary Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC) Dr Khalam Sam Sun said a petition would be sent to the new President, the Commander-in-Chief and the Head of the National Human Rights Commission to investigate to find out the truth in the murder case. The two teachers were raped and killed in their house and the investigation included questioning of the people living in surrounding areas and troops from Myanmar army battalion based nearby at the time of the killing. But no one was arrested or prosecuted so far. Reference Daily Eleven 27 March Saturday
