Here is why -
A group of Buddhist nationalist has stage a protest against the appointment of a Christian as Vice President in the Government led by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. The protest march was held in Yangon’s Bo Sein Hman ground on 2 April.
A leading nationalist activist, U Naung Taw Lay, said the group has organized the protest against the appointment U Henry Van Thio as a Vice President as it fear his appointment could lead to disappearance of Buddhism from Myanmar.
According to statistics, 80 per cent of population in Myanmar are Buddhist and only 4 per cent are Christians.
There are also protest against U Myint Swe who was appointed by the military as another Vice President , as the group say did not worked for the benefit of the people when he served under the military government.
