This report is Confirmed true and is of Medium Priority. Here is why -
The gathering of Christian for mass prayer at a home was banned after complaint by ultra nationalist groups. The mass prayer has been conducted at the residence of Daw Naw Say Alphaw in Ban Bwe kone village in Hmawbi Township since last June. The mass prayers are conducted every Thursday and Sunday. The complaint sent to the Chairman of Hmawbi Township General Administration Department on 28 March said the prayers has caused nuisance to elderly Buddhist people living nearby. And authorities failed to take any action despite of earlier complaints. It said the gathering is not officially approved and it could trigger conflict among the members of different religion. The letter was posted on the Facebook page of Buddha Goneye Monk Ashin Agga Dhamma, who frequently use derogatory language against Christians in his posts. In in every wards of Hmawbi, people of Buddhist faith have several congregation halls and they conduct religious donation ceremony using loud hailers and play religious songs on high volume. However, the members of a minority faith are losing rights to peacefully worship according to its religious teaching. Reference: Ashin Agga Dhamma
