This report is Confirmed true and is of High Priority. Here is why -
A senior monk from the Race and Religion Protection Committee (Ma Ba Tha) threatened with a massive anti-government protest if the Foreign Ministry failed to declare that Rohingya does not exists in Myanmar. U Pa Mauk Kha made the comment in a speech at a protest march in Yangon against a statement issued by the United States Embassy, which mentioned Rohingya as one of the ethnic race of Myanmar. He said the US Ambassador has insulted Myanmar’s sovereign rights by issuing a statement mentioning Myanmar. U Pa Mauk Kha added that the former president U Thein Sein has already declared that no race with the name of Rohingya exists in Myanmar. He said the US Ambassador ignored that positon of Myanmar government and deliberately using Rohingya to incite religious violence in Myanmar. He said the US Ambassador would be responsible if his comment trigger religious riots. The US Ambassador Mr Scott Mercial has said the US will continue to use Rohingya as the US respect the rights of an ethnic group self-identify its ethnicity. Anti-Rohingya protests led by U Pa Mauk Kha were held in Mandalay on 13 May and in Ayeyarwady Region on 18 May.
