A Human Rights activist, U Aung Myo Min, said racial and religious discrimination has reached to a highest level in Myanmar among the members of the United Nations. U Aung Myo Min, who is also the Director of a non-governmental organization Equality Myanmar was speaking at an event held in Inya Lake Hotel in Yangon to mark the international day on End of Racial and Religious Discrimination. The day was first to be marked in Myanmar and it was attended by religious leaders, human rights activists and members of the civil society organizations. A Christian leader, Cardinal Charles Bo, said the people in Myanmar are facing human rights abuses since the time U Ne Win was in power. U Myat Ko, the Chair of the Yangon School of Political Science said 2008 Constitution itself include some references that support racial and religious discrimination. U Thein Sein Government faced criticism from the United Nations for religious violence that took place across Myanmar during 2012 and 2013. Reference: DVB
