This report is Confirmed true and is of Low Priority. Here is why -
A report by Rakhine State parliamentary investigation commission said Bengalis who want recognition as Rohingya were not interested to obtain the citizenship of Myanmar. The commission, which was established to probe into the attack against Myanmar border guard force last October, has submitted its final report to the state assembly on 21 March. The commission members visited Maungtaw district twice to interview the local population. The report said both sides were concerned about terrorist attacks. It also said those who support act of terrorism wants to get recognition for themselves as Rohingyas instead of becoming citizen of Myanmar. The report said the crisis in Rakhine State persist due to political manipulation as well as for neglecting the strategic interest for the state and for not allowing other partners to join in search for solution to the crisis. It said taking the past mistakes as lesson learned, the government and the Rakhine State Peace, Tranquillity and Development Committee should try to find solution by giving central roles to the local political parties, MPs of the state assembly and civil society organizations. The parliamentary commission was formed on 24 October last year to investigate into the attacks against Myanmar security forces in Maungtaw and Rathetaung, which took place 15 days earlier. The commission include the 11 MPs from the state assembly. The commission has submitted preliminary report to the third regular session of the state assembly on 27 December last year. The earlier report mention that there are two categories of people among Bengalis one is those who are moderate and those who are in favour of terror. It said they were working to increase their population and for domination of their religion. Reference: 7 Day Daily, 23 March 2017
