Here is why -
A Sri Lankan migrant worker was brutally murdered in Pakistan over alleged blasphemy, drawing the attention of local and international media. Several social media posts had claimed that Azzam Ameen, a reputed Sri Lankan Muslim journalist with a huge follower base is maintaining silence over the incident, questioning his impartiality. These posts had also mentioned that Azzam Ameen was very vocal about the ethnic violence that happened in Digana, Sri Lanka against Muslims, contrasting that with his supposed silence over the current incident, implying that he is not reporting on this because he too is a Muslim. However, Azzam Ameen had posted regular updates on the incident via both his Twitter (https://twitter.com/AzzamAmeen) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/AzzamAmeenSL/) handles, as well as via the handles of News Wire ( (https://www.facebook.com/newswireLK/), a news agency he is affiliated with.
