This report is Confirmed true and is of Low Priority. Here is why -
The General Administration Department in Ayewarwady Region has instructed the township offices to form committees to prevent Arabic schools in the region being used for prayers by Muslims. The trustees from the nine mosques in Wekhama town were summoned by the township administration department and instructed them allow Muslim pilgrims from the other parts of Myanmar only after checking their identities. To allow the pilgrims to stay in the mosque only if they have proper travel permits. The trustees were also told that a supervisory committee would be formed to prevent the Arabic schools being used for prayers. The committee will be chair by the head of the respective township GAD and the head of the township Religious Affairs department will serve as the secretary and the heads of the other departments will be appointed as the members of the committee. The mosque trustees said the move to appoint the committee could be to put pressure to dismantle the Arabic schools built without permission. Similar to move by the religious affairs department to remove illegally constructed Buddhist monasteries. The supervision committees were established in Phyapon district, as well as in Wekhama and Einme in Myaungmya district. But yet to be formed in Ma U Bin and Pathein districts. In a surprise move, four Muslims were included in the supervisory committee formed in Einme. Reference: Source of BHRN
