A Man walking on the street of Malakal Town was beaten by a group of youths who followed him from where he came from. The young man escaped from the attackers by running to the police station. The police officers took him to the hospital run by MSF where he was given medication.

The report of an attack on a young man walking on the streets of Malakal Town by a group of youths was reported on 31 of May 2024. The report has been assigned to the Project team in Malakal for investigation. There have been ethnic tensions and increased attacks on groups in the Town of Malakal within the period this report was submitted.
The following information is true: Since May 30, a tribal conflict has erupted in Malakal town between the Dinka and Shilluk tribes. As a result of the clashes between these two tribes, the police have confirmed that 9 people have died. The young man in the report was from the Shilluk tribe which Dinka men targeted.
